Omniterm LPX. Ordered as a special version of LPI C2063. Loop powered (4-20mA) Isolator which provides 1500Vrms isolation on any current loop. Extended range 0-50mA and zero to 1000ohm load. Used for the 10-50mA loop interfaces.

The OMNITERM LPI and LPX are current repeaters specifically designed to isolate instrument current loops from circulating ground currents that can cause system inaccuracies, or at worst, instrument failure. The current applied to the input is repeated on the isolated output, and the load present on the output is reflected back to the input. No separate power source is required. These second-generation products utilise advanced electronic techniques to achieve high accuracy with minimum loop losses and zero field calibration.

Forming part of OMNIFLEX extensive OMNITERM range of industrial instrumentation, the OMNITERM LPI and LPX are designed to be DIN rail mounted.

Because of the faithful nature in which the output impedance is reflected back to the input, an open circuit on the output will cause an open circuit on the input. In cases where this is undesirable, an internal clamp is provided in the LPI model which, when connected, ensures that reflected output voltage never rises above 10 volts if the output loop is broken. This clamp is optimised for 250ohm terminated circuits (1-5volts).

The LPX (order code C2461) is optimised for use with an extended current range from 0-50mA and load impedances down to zero ohms.
